I use the diesel kleen also known as power service. Grey bottle in the summer and white bottle in the winter.

I've been told to never use anything synthetic as the additives may be hard on the injectors. I usually use something that cleans lubricates and boosts cetane at the same time. Kill all the birds with one one rock......

What about the cetain booster by motorcraft that ford sells. Is for injectors and it makes mine stop all the black smoke. Has anyone else tried it?

Opti-lube XPD.

With the new ULSD, you need to add something with good lubrication properties to replace the sulfur (which served to lube the fuel pump and the injectors). The Power Service white helps, but not as much as this stuff. It's also a cetane booster.

Powerservice grey bottle most of the time and white bottle when the temperature gets cold. Don't use 2 stroke oil in these motors the injectors are way to sensitive and expensive.

Does the white bottle do more for lubrication than the grey? I know the white is the anti-gel but was wondering if it is better for lubrication.

bio diesel lubes better than optilube! and you only need to run b-2 or 2%biodiesel to acchieve better lubrication, so thats roughly .75 gallons of b-100 to a full 33 gal. tank of diesel!

Wel heck maybe a guy should just dump in a quart of vegetable oil per tank. Its a heck of a lot cheaper than any of these additives.....

I use the ULSD formula cetane booster by Motorcraft in my 05 excurion with the 6.0. and my 08 F250 with the 6.4. The excursion seems to run better, and better milege.
