Most likely they are 3.50's but its best to verify whats in there before you go out and get new gears for the rear end. I dont know what all was available for 73 but Ive seen some F-100/F150's with 4.10 gears factory.
Dana axle ID: There may be one ID tag, there may be two.
Front axle: On the right front axle tube, just adjacent to the removable inspection cover is a 2" x 1/2" metal tag held on with two bolts.
The tag will have a 7 digit Dana ID number similar to: 603010-1. When decoded, that will tell what ratio the axle is.
Also look on the inspection cover itself...this tag has one bolt hole and is attached to one of the bolts that holds the cover on.
Do not be surprised if the tag on the cover is missing...ppl took them off when the axles were worked on and usually never re-installed them.
I can decode whatever Dana axle code you find.
And...look on your trucks Rating (VIN) Plate...on the left door face near the latch for the AXLE code. Post what you find.
This AXLE code will decode what the original rear axle ratio was (and mebbe the front, too..Ford didn't always list the front axle ratio back then). Whatever the rear axle ratio is, the front axle would have been a similar ratio.

doors are frome a 79 so that wont work Ill go look for the rest
The doors are the same 1973/79 F100/350.
Why the 2.47-1 rear axle ratio?
Just a guess...someone swapped in the higher gear from a 1980/87 F100/150 in order to get better gas mileage.
I've never seen a Bronco or a 4WD pickup with that high a gear ratio.
Highest gear ratio AFAIK that Ford installed in 4WD's: 3.08-1.
