Better check that rear axle tag number again.
WDM-DC is listed for 1980/87 only.
The ratio is 2.47-1. Used on 2WD's
I doubt it was used for a 4WD rear axle ratio, as original.

Are you
sure this is a
1973 F100 4WD?
What is the serial (VIN) number shown on the registration?
Through 1980, Ford VIN's are 11 digits. From 1981, 17 digits.
You can edit your posts, to add further info.
What is the front axle ID tag number?
.

F11 = F100 4WD / Y = 360 2V / R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant / R09245 = 1973
NO F150's till 1975.

That means the truck is correct...it's a 1973
F100 4WD with a 360 2V engine.
Ford didn't introduce the F150 till 1975.

Sounds like the rear end went out at one time and someone replaced it with a newer rear end that didnt match the front. Either get new gears to match the front or find an axle with the correct gears in it from a junk yard. Is there a tag on the front axle to figure out what gears its got?

We need some front diff info - any tag found there? Hopefully, you still have a decent ratio there (like 3.50, or near) and then you can get rear gears to match. I, personally, wouldn't want a 2.47 geared 4wd.
