I bought the siege engineering kit off Ebay for like $250 and added another 2 gallon tank and converted everything to 1/2" air line. Its insanely loud. My compressor and tanks are on the outside of the pass side frame rail and the horns are on the inside of the drivers side frame rail between the transfer case and the fuel tank. I would highly reccomend gettin some if you don't have them.

I went with a bigger compressor and tank as well. I removed my spare tire/assembly and put them back there, and ran the lines to the horns that are under the passenger side seat, mounted to the frame rail, facing forward. They are OBNOXIOUSLY loud. I've had people say , from 20' away, that they "go right through your chest and out your back!!". Any time I go under a bridge (when I have a passenger in the truck) I'll crack the passenger's window and nail the horns.. it scares the Hell out of the people in my truck!!
I went with a set from Seige Eng. they are the triple train horns with the 2 liter tank! I mounted the horns and comp on the frame with the horns pointed back! I had them forward but I have a short gravel road to my house and only after a couple of days I noticed that the horns were starting to collect dirt !! I would think that in the rain they would also collect water! and I don't think that will help the life of the horns! They work GREAT wakes up those sleepers at the stop lites!!
I have the same exact tool box and mounting locations as ceicl. Along with the same 4 trumpet set from horn blasters. I love them the horns are legal to have in the state of florida but illegal to honk on the road. theres a specific violation for it ive already had tickets for them . My set up was 500 dollars they sure do get peoples attention or scare the crap out of them deffinately worth the money.
Also be aware of where you mount the horns underneath, mine caked up so i moved them to underneath my toolbox like cecil stay clean and are loud. One last thing you will have an onboard air system you could fill your tired up or run an ipact gun to change a tire.
I've got a set on my superduty - mounted where the spare used to be - compressor behind the back seat.
I use them when they need to be used, like if I get cut off or someone is in danger of getting mowed down if they don't pull their head out.
Flame me if you want to, but the reason they are illegal in some places is because of people going around and blasting them for no good reason. What's so funny about someone dropping their groceries because you blasted your horn? How about if they had a heart attack? That would be hilarious, huh?
It's supposed to be a warning device, not a toy.
I too bought the Siege Triple set, I haven't installed them yet. I wanted to know, on my 08' I got the upfitter switches, where is the hookup terminals located ? I haven't had the truck very long, only had the hood up twice. I've heard it is located under the hood somewhere. Any advice?
I drive a tractor-trailer for a living and in driving school they told us NEVER to blow the air horns unless it WAS A MATTER OF LIFE OR DEATH, I know some trucks "city" or normal electric horns are sometimes not loud enough but blowing loud air horns may just scare someone enough to cause an accident and possibly hurt someone!
Hey Cecil, Can you hear the compressor running in your tool box? I was thinking of putting the compressor and tank in the tool box and mounting the horns on the frame rail. Just dont want the compressor noise inside the truck when it is running.

I have the same mount setup as cecil and i can hear the compressor on the outside of truck kinda loud. but inside the cab its pretty quiet usually you cant hear it over road noise, music or people talkin.
I mounted my compressor to the frame useing rubber on the mounting feet! But I can still hear it inside the truck! But it does not run all the time unless you a big toooter!! On a normal cycle takes maybe 1min to top off and with the motor running going down the road really not that bad!!

Yes, you can hear the compressor running.... like mentioned above, more so outside the truck than in the cab.
I couldn;t stop using mine at first. Then some other guys here in SoBe started blasting people in line in front of the nightclubs. Next the local PD stated in the newspapers that they would ARREST anybody who used them within town, so I had to wean myself from them until I installed a horn bypass switch. Now I only use them on the highways.
