OK, first problem I have had since I bought the truck. I noticed when i let off the throttle it makes a noise that sounds like when you try to whistle. It's just a short tone that lasts about a second. I took my daughter to school this morning and it's only about a half mile away. I didn't want to just warm the truck and drive a mile and shut it off so I went down the road about 10 miles. I got on it a little and hit about 65mph and when i let off the peddle it made that sound. Any suggestions? Boost is good, still has power, just changed the oil. I use PS in the white bottle and just filled up yesterday and kept it plugged in all night and the temp right now is around 35.
I'm sure there's a technical name for it, but informally it's known as "turbo fart". Do a forum search and you'll see lots of info. Typical on these trucks. Mine does it as well. I'm sure some of the more technical types can give you the reason why it does it. Seems to happen most often when you release the throttle after having gotten on it.

if you're hearing a quiet whistle, it could be your head gaskets are leaking/blown. some call it the tea kettle of death sound. if it's a whistle noise you hear, you are probably overboosting and your degas bottle is puking.
C'mon guys, without actually hearing what he's talking about you really have no idea.
It could be a hundred different things, and to start telling the guy that his head gaskets are gone and that his turbos farting and his this and that is puking........is just down right wrong!!
Personally, I think you might need a front diff and tranny rebuild, but that's just me .
It's raining right now but i'll check the coolant level in the morning. It's still under warranty so i'll have the local Ford dealer look at it. Either way it's gonna be a PITA. Thanks for the info fellas.

Certainly is hard to diagnose through the internet. However, most are sharing more than knowledge - they are sharing their personal experiences. In the end, it is up to each of us to weigh the merit of the feedback.
Since the truck is still under warranty - this is the BEST time to find out it is head gaskets (if it in fact is). Knowing what to insist on at the dealership is the key piece of info. So ... if you suspect head gaskets, make sure you get a pressure tests on the line to the degass reservoir. You would probably have to tell them you are losing coolant along w/ hearing the whistle. You definitely should get this checked out!
