Engine noise just before start-up
Hey guys, have another question. On the first start-up of the day, every now and again I hear a sound. It occurs after the engine has stopped cranking and before it roars to life( yes its a split second sound). Not sure if its a problem or if anyone else has noticed this on their 6.0. It not cold out (54 deg) and i just had the oil changed ( sound occured once before and oil change and once after) Truck has about 60,400 miles. The sound is hard to explain, its sort of sounds like a turbo fart ( like when your hard on the throttle under load and you let off suddenly that whoomp sound) Thanks for the help.

Does it only do it when it starts? You might try turning the key on and waiting 30 seconds or so. Mine does what I think is an ABS pump test sometime in there, sometimes before I start, sometimes right after. The sound it makes could be described as a "fart."
