I would think someone has been in your VB and reworked it for a quicker firmer shift. Thus the TC to slow. I do not like the early TC lock programs.
1-2, 2-3, 3-TC lock, 3TC lock-4th i feel its the best program. Even more with a TC with added multiplication. The gear spread is more even. Gives you the seat of the pants feeling like its a 5 speed trans.

I'm assuming VB is valve body? Previous owner had ford replace the trans at 90K. Had the slips and everything. I guess there is the possibility that the valve body was played with.... Just as a side note is to OK to lock the TC manually under heavy throttle? I want to do some more testing but don't want to destroy the TC (i.e. lock in 2nd at about 2500 heavy foot)?

Could have some upgrades.

Most use the manual lock for extra engine braking. With the program you have it is locked. You are just not allowing it to unlock/lock during the shift.

Alright Bill, Thank you so much for your time and help. It's people like yourself that make FTE such and excellent resource! I'll do some more testing and see what happens. By the looks of it, I guess there not a whole lot that I can do other than either 1. Re-burn to tow program 2. possible look into VB. 3. Live with it for now. I'm thinking I might go with option 3. Unfortunately I don't have a whole lot of time (plus it's darn cold up here in NH!) to work on this project. I'm going home (back to MA) for the weekend. I'll do some further investigating and see what happens. Again thank you and the other here for your help. I really do appreciate it!

ts6 chip with hd 4r100 rebuild issues

Wondering if anyone could offer help.. we rebuilt a 4r100 upgraded with hd2 tugger kit, installed into an 03 e350 7.3 with ts6 tuner...before committing to the build I had done research and have heard that the ts ruins trans, so we discussed with customer and he was alright removing it. the way my boss builds these units there is not need for a tuner. With that said vehicle arrived with tuner still in it, now we're having issues with 1-2 shift delay and od light flashing, pulled a p0720 code - built 1000's of 4r100's this is the 1st time having and issue.

the speedo works on the dash the 720 tells the pcm is not reading the oss, when it takes off in 1st gear it doesn't shift until the od light starts to blink. With the light blinking trans runs VERY good. All 4 gears and lockup. Had the alternator looked at by our starter and alt guy and he said the alt is good. Got too much work to be dealing with voodoo
