Just got dont pulling a 14ft enclosed trailer to a car show. Mainly all flat ground, truck felt like it was lacking power especially on the top end, truck has the filter upgrade, cant call the numbers off hand, the one everybody on here has, 3" dp, 5" exhaust, 6"tip, ts chip (pulled in 75hp setting) and thats basically it. Truck would barely get up to 80 mph at full throttle and would only do so going down hill. Would not maintain a 75mph speed, wouldnt shift down if u put it to the floor, and just seemed to have no top end power. Then at one point it kinda felt like there may have been a miss and it wasnt taking fuel or something but that was shortly after swapping tanks when front ran out.
Some data, at 80mph, full throttle, gauges showed....2500rpm, 1000-1050 pyro, 11-12 boost, 205 trans temp
I am running 24" semi wheels milled down with 295/40/24 pirelli scorpion extra load tires truck also had 70-80 gallons of fuel on it
How long since fuel filter? Was it black when changed? Fuel pressure? Had valve cover gasket connections examined in cover and out lately? Up pipes soot free? I have to say..I can't say I have ever tried to drive mine that fast. But I could get 29psi with stock stixs ...and no where near 4k rpm.
Fuel filter just changed, no idea if it was black, no idea what fuel pressure is, mechanic had to rewire all valve cover connections, no clue on up pipes...never seen over 20 boost
subscribing - I'm having very similar issues with just lack of power and rare miss, I just changed my CPS and just seems gutless on the highway
Mine started a full time miss on the way home, and seems to be new noises under the hood. Friend of mine told me it could be a boost leak....hopefully its nothing super major but if it is then its time for upgrades. Im going to a local ford diesel mechanic first thing in the morning so we shall see whats the culprit
There is a small hose going to it from the passenger side intake plenum. Unplug the electrical plug from the MAP, and if it runs better, replace the MAP sensor.
