People with TS 6 position chip 7.3

recently purchased the ts 6 position chip for a 2001 f250 7.3 and am wondering if the shifting of my truck is normal with the chip or if my chip is malfunctioning. ts told me to send it back and they would re burn it but before i do i want to make sure it is indeed not supposed to do that.i have read that ts doesn't mess with shift points and i have read they do so idk? the problem i am having is in the 50, 75, and 100 hp setting it's shifting into overdrive at 40 mph. this only happens when I'm just cruising along but it seems to still be too much and it definitely doesn't sound right. just trying to gather some second opinions.

thanks.

It is normal for most chips to modify shifting. Many chip providers will change shifting to get the truck into overdrive as soon as possable for economy reasons. There are so many variables between all of our trucks, and then we all have preferences, it makes it real difficult to get exactly what you want, and like, for tuning the first try. This is the exact reason I recently changed from a TS chip to the Hydra. With the Hydra chip, programing changes to your tuning are only an email away.

My truck will shift into OD (stock tune) at 45mph if I'm light on the go pedal. Most of my tunes retard the shift to build some RPMs for power. I know my tunes adjust shift points, even it is just a little (economy) because the shifts feel different even if I can't tell if the shift timing is different.

ive got PHP tunes on my ts chip, stock, 65tow, 80tow, 80dd, 100hp, whisper

I've only used the 80dd & 100hp and they both changed my od shift to 40mph if i'm easy on the pedal.

When I put my chip in, the tranny slipped excessively during shifts, esp. 2-3. I asked a lot and finally installed a jw valve body for more solid shifts. works great and lasts a long time. And mine shifts to 5 [tc lock up] at about 42 mph.

I also have a valve body in my slushbox (got it before the PHP tunes). In stock it's a "firm" shift (especially at light throttle) but in any of my tunes it's still solid but much smoother.
