Ok, I have another one for you folks... I have gotten used to the new shift programing, HOWEVER, I think my truck is doing something else strange...
If I get on the throttle heavy in say.... the 75 HP setting from a stop (or rolling) the truck shifts to second ok. Then when it tries to go into third, it seems like it makes a quick shift, then downshifts and the RPMS go up. Then it catched-goes, TC locks, then OD... I know this may not make since, it's almost feels like when it goes into third that (what would be in a standard transmission like slipping the clutch out)
Or if you were sitting in the pasenger seat it would feel like i was feathering in and out of the throttle (comment by passenger) even though i stay at about 3/4 throttle
It a very strange feeling. I'm not sure if the TC is going, and the extra HP is just to much for it to handle. I've only been using the 75HP setting for not, nothing higher. The shifts are begining to worry me though. Any thoughts? Thanks! BTW, it's a TS 6-postion Chip
No, I ment TS as in TS preformance chip. Its esentially the chip that TW uses (I think) but he adds his own custom burns. Didn't want to flip the bill for the TW chip and got my TS chip for 240. 6-postions, (high-idle, stock, 50,75,100,140 settings) thing is amazing how much power it puts down. Like night ans day. Just need my transmission up and running better now. www.tsperformance.com
Chip took PCM code from NAW6 to TDE1. I'll pull the chip this weekend when i'm home from school and see how it is then. Snowing out here and pretty cold... Thanks for the help so far guys.
Have you had a chance to pull the chip and drive to see if that makes a difference?
I'll have to keep TS Performance in mind when I start looking for a chip. I think my TC is slipping now. I need to get that looked at first.
Unfortunatly No, I'm up at school and my truck is parked a mile away. Right now it's snowing pretty good out now to. It going to have to wait till the weekend. The test that i'm going to do is as follows
With chip: (stock setting)
Without chip:
That way i can rule out the TC slip as a chip issue or horse power issue. I have a feeling that it won't do it in the stock setting (TDE1 PCM) or no chip (NAW6 PCM) only higher HP settings= TC on it way out... hopefully not though...
I have a TS 4 position chip from TW. It does the same thing but only in the "performance" setting. The "tow" setting works great! Although third hits a little hard sometimes. I figured it was just a programming issue and had planned to take it back to have him program the "tow" shift program with the performance tune. I hope that fixes it! For now I just shift it manually in performance and it works fine.
