It will help to ensure consistent and equal fuel pressure to all injectors. This will both improve the longevity of your injectors and provide additional fuel should performance upgrades require it.
The stock system has a pressure bleed valve set at 60 psi as it leaves the secondary fuel filter. Downstream pressure is anything less than this and in some situations the injectors at the back of the heads may see considerably less. This also allows for variance between left and right banks.
As the Regulate Return measures/sets pressure after the injectors, you know they are all seeing the same values. Most of the systems also increase the volume entering the heads by increasing the size of the lines coming in, and removing the banjo bolts.
