Coolant temperature

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

What are you guys seeing as a average temperature when the truck is warmed up? I am seeing 180-183, is this normal? Will going to a hotter thermostat help mileage? Is there a hotter one available?

BTW it takes about 10 miles to get warm.

When I had the old edge installed, I was seeing around 190-192 if I remember correctly (got rid of that pos a long time ago). It also takes my truck awhile to warm up. Depending on ambient temperature mainly. Just be sure not to run it hard til it is warm.

It depends on time of year(ambient temp) and how hot of a tune your running. I can see 210 with my hybrid race tune and with the same ambient temp, same travel distance and same driving style just with a milder tune see 185-190. With outside temps I am seeing now(40s) and using my gen. econo tune, I see about what you are seeing driving respectible. I see that you are using the LiveWire, which tells me your getting your info from the OBDII port as far as coolant goes, I'm willing to bet that your actually running hotter then that. I know that when I was running my outlook and then switched to analog gauges there were big temp changes and it usually was the outlook was reading cooler then the analog gauges were. Just something to keep in the back of your mind.
