If you know anything about trucks that RANGER is far from being a madza. That RANGER will kick the s--t out of that junk I see you putting on this forum. any time any of you feel that you have a bad truck I would like to see it at Silver Lake Sand Dunes Michigan So bring in on.And get ready to LOSE.
Whoo hoo - I like online pissing contest...
Take a look at your ranger, then take a look at mine. I know mine's only half way done but I'd still wager on it handing yours it's lunch! Sure mine doesn't have a cool body lift, or even any bolt on crap, it's just pure race goodness. 302, 4link rear suspension in the works and I'm custom designing my front a-arms right now (I'll send you the cad files if you like). It should net 20"+ of rear travel and at least 16" of front (yes I'm being modest with the travel numbers). Add the 302 (soon to be 351 windsor) and the fact that it is a custom tube frame (1.75" .120 DOM just for Dave) with a 2.5" coilover and a 2.5" bypass on each corner and I think it would handle your little dunes just fine. It's set up to handle 1000 miles of baja california, a little sand would never hurt it!
I dont think itll handle Baja. Pronounced Ba' Ha fer youns up nirth. No cool body lift or paddle tars. You dont have a chance. Maybe some bushwacker flares and some chrome will help ya.
OK, I said I wasn't going to post a reply to this incessant string of name-calling (fully worthy of an episode of JerrySpringer), but I did want to point out a couple of things...
1)The Ranger pickups mentioned in here are a) not a dentside and b) Fully 50% Japanese made. American assembled, but wonderful parts such as both A/T and Manual transmissions are Jap units as well as all axles. We won't even get into the various assemblies made in Japan and shipped to the factory to be added into the trucks.
2) As for OEM and NOS and other assorted parts out there...If someone will pay for it, so be it. I have bought plenty from shebay as well as sold plenty on there. NOS does definately have it's place as I have been looking for two specific items to help finish my '74 Explorer - new Explorer bedside emblems (which everyone is out of) and new horizontal bumper guards for the original Explorer package front bumper. Both I was FINALLY able to aquire from BOTP in NOS form...they had just gotten a new shipment in. As for both of those, I might have paid more than a repro cost (if they are actually available and in stock) but I got what I (important word here: "I") felt was a great deal.
Now, can we all just get along? :P

Idiot im not. You want as list of reasons why im not? well here goes. Graduated with a 4.0 GPA and Academic Honors. Spent 3 years in tech school. 2005 Collision Repair Tech of the Year in WV. Also 18 out of 100 in the nation that year. I work as a fabricator for a multi-million dollar company based out of Pittsburg. Name one of those that makes me an idiot. And im only 22.
Tom i have a ranger and agree fully on the 50% Japanese parts. And they are alot like a Mazda. Parts interchange alot.
I used to own a 1990 Ranger and a 1990 Bronco II. Anything that you can unbolt and swap onto or from a Mazda, I'd call amazingly similar. LOL
But seriously, I know plenty of Rangers and Bronco II's that are still running at 200K, but there I go off topic again.
BTW-when I replace the floor pans in my F-100, is there any special sealer that should be used after they are welded in, or just paint/undercoat?

I can't really think of 1 part on my ranger that is Jap - well, maybe that headlight panel thing I took off a 98, seeing as the is pretty much the only true ranger part on the thing - besides the portion of cab I kept. The rest is pretty much hand built by me or american made race part - minus the 302 (out of a 70's), c6 (out of a 70's) and the 9" rear (out of an 80's)
Tom if it was me i would butt weld the floorpan in with a full weld. Dont overlap or just tack weld it in. Thats just my preference. Then coat it good with POR 15 or something equal to that. On the inside of my last truck i got an industrial galvanize coating that goes on rebar and used that on the inside and out then POR 15 the underside and on the inside i Rhino lined it before i put sound deadener and the rubber mat.
Thanks. Yeah, I already have used a half gallon of POR-15 on the frame and underside of the new/used bed. I had planned on using it as a primer for the new floor pans inside and out. I just wondered if there was a chance of the new pans "rattling". Thanks...and by the way...the floor pans are "American Steel: HAHAHA I checked..but not NOS. :P
just know not to butt weld that entire seam atone time. It will put too much heat into the panel at one time andwarp it a bit. Do a stitch weld on it - weld and inch here an inch there then take a brake, come back later and weld more. This will keep you from putting too much heat in the panel.
Also I prefer to use silicon bronze rod for something like that because it allows for a little more ductility and movement without cracking. This comes in handy if your rig will see some time off road. I think they have silicon bronze wire forMIG machines now if you do'nt have a TIG welder handy.
Lets get back on track here!! I just won a set of 76 Crew Cab emblems on fleabay for the front fenders of my truck for 28 dollars. Would I have paid more--you bet I would. There are some items that are hard to find--been looking for months for these, and they weren't in the best of shape. If there is something you want, it is worth what you pay--to you.
Yes, badges are one of the very few things that I (remember - we all have our own opinions on this) could UNDERSTAND people spending $$ on for NOS. That and trim pieces that cannot be found I guess.
Now, would I do it myself - no way. But then again I pretty much take any badging or trim off of anything I own (I have all my old crew cab emblems in a pile right here )
Nice crew by the way!
