He got lucky and found 2 guys willing to pay $300 for them, IMO if you get $300 for one set, it wont hurt to try getting $300 for another set in matching and better condition. He did not ask $300 for the first set, its what he got. I don't know about you, but if I had something NOS, and that did not grow on trees, the following would NEVER happen. I buy for .03 cents (or whatever) I list on ebay, it sells for $314. I email the buyer and tell him that I feel bad for letting him pay so much money, so I take less for them.
The only reason why I am taking issue with this guy is his crappy attitude in this thread, and horrible punctuation. We should be bagging on the two idiots paying $300+ for OE tow hooks when you can buy "Hecho in Taiwan" junk for $10 at Walmart, that do the same job. (Ya ya, I know, some people have to use OE NOS stuff..)
I dont know how many of you have actually had to use this style hook, but they dont work worth a krap because the rope wont stay in the hook.
I can remember taking oem hooks off and putting on ones with spring clips that hold the rope in place.
I guess I just don't get it. $300+ for NOS - WHY? Unless it is a concours car that will bring you $$$$ when you sell - which these trucks never will...
As far as "Jap Crap" because they're not original Ford???? Blow it our your...
One of my pet peev's is people's use of the word "rare" on eBay. It seems every hunk of crap I ever see on there is "rare". Maybe he just meant they are rare in the 2 sq. ft. he is occupying in that moment in time?
I will tell you for the last time if are are so smart and sis look them up you should buy them that is what ebay is about making a profit I do not do this for fun the key word PROFIT
I guess Iam talking to a bunch of back woods listing driving a honda civic for daily driver on the FORD site what a winner like I said JAP CRAP tow hooks with clips JAP CRAP
I understand that. I'm all for profit and as EVERYBODY has said in this thread. More power to you for getting $300+ out of a $2 hunk of steel...
My rant was the overly used "rare" thing on eBay, and your "Jap Crap" comment if we refuse to pay an ungodly amount for an NiB-T (new, in box TURD). I'm sure whatever tow hooks I end up bolting on muttly will never bring that kind of $$, but why would I expect them to - they are TOW HOOKS!
The fact that people are dumping this $$ on NOS parts for trucks that will never be worth any real $$ blows my mind. I know, I know - we all love our trucks and they are worth a TON to US, but I am speaking in the realm of collector cars and their monetary worth - sorry for the dose of reality guys. How much would a concourse F-150 or Bronco actually go for???? $16k - max? Even then, I bet it would be easier to get that $$ out of a mutt of a truck (that's why I call my truck the "Muttly Crew") that is no where near stock.
*edit* - I just posted this to see you're next "backwoods" comment. I live right near Los Angeles, CA. Not exactly back woods ya know. And God forbid I own a civic. Did you look at my other list of cars? They are not all are exactly the best on gas. Plus what other car can you buy for $1500 with 250k miles, do nothing to it, but beat the **** out of it and it LOVES it? Front wheel burnouts are entertaining!
My whole though on this is - you gotta love when a 13yr old gets ahold of mommy and daddy's computer and decides to run his mouth on an internet forum
Go back to the 3rd grade and learn to spell. You call us back woods yet you can't form a coherent sentence. Did you even graduate middle school?

There is a set on a bronco in a yard in my area, they are in great shape, just need some paint. Any one interested I'll pick them up and sell them for $125 plus shipping. HA HA.

LOL, you are giving us a great deal, and taking us to the cleaners at the same time!!
you forgot the decimal point - that was $1.25 right - hahahahahahaha
As was said earlier in this post - these variety don't exactly work the best. Plus I usually don't even run tow hooks, and if I do I won't go anywhere to buy them. I just grab them off a truck in a yard if I'm already there, or pic a set out of the parts pile left from something we just cut up.
My bumpers, etc. are typically tied into a roll cage anyways, so tugging on the bumper a bit (or a lot) won't hurt anything
No selling on this site go to classifieds LEARN THE RULES
It's funny you bring up rules.
The word you've used in several posts right before the word "crap" (it rhymes too, if you can't figure it out) can be interpreted easily as a slur or derogatory term against certain members of the world's population, which is strictly forbidden by FTE.
Now since this thread went from comical to a b1tch-fest, lets see how long it takes to get closed.
