I have to side with Rod (79 shotbox) on this one, I have met him personally, and bought a cab from him in 2006, he is a really nice guy and is just selling this stuff to make some cash in his spare time. He has one of the nicest shortbeds I have ever seen, and I see his trucks at the sand dunes, and at the 4x4 jamboree every year. I think we are all jealous he got $300 out of those tow hooks, but good for him! Don't let these guys get you worked up Rod.

We are not jealous about him making a profit on a part. We are just pointing out that he is acting like a childish *ss. This forum is for the help of knowlege to it's members and for helping those in need. Not for having a pissing contest. He may be a nice guy in person but in this post he is acting like a 5 year old that can't have a new toy. we all know 79shortbox has been acting pretty childish about everyone giving him crap about selling overpriced NOS parts. Even I have poked fun at him for not just giving up the forum fight - no matter who has the "last word" there is not going to be a "winner" out of this. 79shortbox, just give up and be quiet (and spend some time learning how to write).
I am not going to take 79shortbox's side by any means but it's the people that are willing to pay WAY too much for NOS parts is who we need to be making a--es of. In all reality if people keep paying this much for parts, the whole truck hobby / restoration thing is going to become way too expensive for the average joe type of guy. I've seen it in old John Deere tractors, etc. It USED to be a relatively cheap hobby but now since the doctors and lawyers have become part of the collecting thing of old Deere's the price for ANYTHING is much higher than what it should be. So, we need to heckle the hell out of the idiots that are OVERPAYING for NOS parts or any old Ford parts, new or used. The Reproductions made in the USA (not JapCrap) are just as good if not better than NOS parts IMO.
