Does the 3" PVC fit tight inside the filter? I thought it needed to be 4" OD, and the PVC and ABS I found in town was NOT 4" OD.
Chase, the 3" pvc dwv coupling fit just right, there is a little bump on one end of the coupling that needs to be ground down to make it smooth. They are cheap to buy.
Okay, now I smell what you're stepping in Rick- you used a straight coupler for 3" pipe in order to get the 4" OD needed... wish I had thought of that while I was in town yesterday! I'm going to call a local tire shop today to see if they have any 4" tubing laying around, if not my exhaust will be here today hopefully and I should have some leftovers. Hopefully my gauges will be here today or tomorrow too
Try an interesting experiment. Get 2 one inch water hoses, say 10 feet long. cut one in half and put in a 3/4 inch 6" long piece of copper. then get a 5 gallon jug and see which one fills up faster. You'll be amazed at the results. I learned this from my street racing days when dealing with exhaust diameter's.
I understand what you are saying Mark. Look at where the intake hose goes into the turbo. It is smaller then 4". I don't think my engine is starving for air.
