am i clear that if the boots on the intercooler pipes are oily, i have a leak, and this leak effects performance? next, when i am into this, i should do the foil delete? next, is this just a case of loose connectors or should i expect to replace the boots?
oil will seep through any crack..it doesnt hurt to pull them off and give them a good bath..if they look good then reuse them..if your taking the boots off..it would be the best time for the foil delete..and the ccv mod
just soap and water on the boots..what ever works good on the pipe..i used carb clean...but i have a decal remover for my drill that i used to clean the glue off of my pipe...car dealers use them to remove the old car dealer stickers with it..
Ron do you have a picture of this device? Sounds like it could come in handy, as i have some glue on my tailgate from an "edge" sticker i put on there once in my much younger, naive days.

Best stuff for the glue on the I/C pipe is Crown Sol-U-Strip from Lowes. Get the thick stuff and some of those long rubber gloves so you don't get any on your skin. I just kept applying for about 30 mins and working it with shop towels and wire brush. Here is the thread I started on it: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...nsulation.html
thanks guys, might do this saturday, appreciate the heads up...By the way,we have talked about the lack of sulfer in the fuel, lack of lubercation, would it make sense to have the CC vent to the gas tank?
