Newbi HID conversion

Just wanted to take a moment to say hello and let everyone know what a terrific resource this forum is. I've been lurking here for some time and have used the forum as a reference point for a couple of my other projects.

Tonight I finished an HID conversion on my '03 F350 6.0 PSD. The amount of light the HID throws is ridiculous, I can't believe the difference they make.

Cheers!

Do you have any pics? Did you install a HID kit, or did you do a complete retrofit?

Which kit did you get? Could you post pics of the light output and how they look for oncoming traffic?

HID kits are definitely the best way to go. Tons of light output.

It was a kit. I purchased it from VTX Performance in the Philippines. I picked up the 8000k kit which which included the balasts (1 each for low and high), all the wiring and lightbulbs.

To be honest the toughest part was removing the headlight assembly to gain better access to the bulbs. In all it took about an hour to do both sides.

I have the 8000K kit from http://www.xenonlink.com/. They work great, and they're not that blue. Best comparison are those slightly blue florescent lights. I have pics of mine here:

IMHO, the expensive complete kits aren't necessary, unless you *HAVE* to have high beams. I have never needed them after installing this kit. I have never been pulled over, nor have I been flashed by oncoming traffic.

In my case, the truck will not pass inspection without high beams.
