5.7 was in the early 80's i think, the 6.5 started in around 93-94, and they had the same track record that the 6liter ford diesel had. They started out really poor, then got decent, but were no workhorse either.
i think the late 6.0's are a good working engine though. i seen lots of them on our eastern canada trip pulling quite the loads. in quebec i seen lots of f350's and 3500 dodges pulling semi trailers instead of using big rigs.
Yeah i dont know cant forget 6.2l there prep i always hear bad things about those 6.5 a fella i talked to had a 96 GMC 1500 with the 6.5l diesel bought when it was a year old he said that thing was always breaking down and dieing not starting something always went wrong
Yeah not like I would get a chevy diesel for a truck, but I wouldnt mind putting a 6.2 in a van and have it for camping and traveling. I would actually really love a 7.3 in a camper van, but for some reason they are very uncommon. Seems to me like that would be a kick *** idea!
