my buddy has a 1990 ford bronco "custom", its base color green has a straight 6 and a 5 speed, leather interior with matching rubber flooring through the whole thing, its bone stock from the factory and all the badges say "bronco custom" anyone have any idea what a "bronco custom" is, why its a "custom", and how rare they are? thanks
The Custom is the base line trim package used on the Bronco. Then came the XLT package, the Eddie Bauer is the top of the line, as far as trim packages. I wouldn't say their rare, it is used mostly as fleet vehicles. Kenny
Its not that is any rarer. its just the model. like the lariat or xl ford currently makes. His bronco is probably worth $2700 - $3500 max. If is perfect shape.
yea, i was just interested in how many customs there are out there cus ive never seen another one besides his, and i actually might buy it cus all it needs is a transfer case and shes good to go
If anything there may have been MORE of the "custom" trim level units built. The reason folks don't see them so much is because this trim level was most commonly supplied to law enforcement and fleet vehicle customers. Unless someone picks one up from an auction, these units probably don't see much action after retirement from these entities. That is not to say there weren't any ordered/bought by civilian or non-commercial customers, its just that many folks would opt for a trim level upgrade or wouldn't bother to order a lower trim level when a dealer had an XL, XLT, Eddie Bauer, etc. on the lot.
ok thanks guys, but i got another question or two, what other year or model broncos would have the same transfer case as this one? would it just be any fourth gen bronco? and so would this be considered the more rugged or work ready version?
