What kind of boost pressure are you seeing. On the interstate running 65-70 I am seeing about 20-25 and if I encounter a grade it goes up to around 30. I am curious as this seems high compared to the 6.0. I know this engine is totally different. I have a F-350 DRW 4X4 6.4 PSD auto 3.73

I have a 250 with the same rear end as you w/20" rims. When the beast is cold it wont get out of its own way under 10lbs of boost. warm it does ok but is usually a little over 10lbs. 65 or 70 no problem under 10 lbs until a good incline then it goes up. cant say I have seen over 28 but have not towed the toy hauler yet.
When I run my truck in the mountains of British Columbia I would see the boost gauge go up as far as 35 psi and on the down slopes to about 1 psi. I figure if I am going to blow the turbos then so be it.
Thanks guys. This is my 8th ford diesel truck and this is the nicest one yet. I have my fingers crossed that this one is as dependable as the others. I have not had a bad one yet.

Theres a few people that have pegged the boost guage on here stock. My dad has seen 39-40 psi on his he said there was just a hair of black between the needle and the 40 psi mark. He said he had to look hard to acualy see it.

When I bought my truck in the summer, I could cruise at 70 mph and see 10 psi of boost pretty consistently. Now that the temps have tanked, I see more like 15 to 20 psi of boost. My gas mileage has also decreased in the cold weather along with the increase in boost pressure. Just one more reason I can't wait for it to get warm again. The older I get, the colder I get.
Also, I am pulling that same grade with my 6.0 w/ a tow tune wide open to maintain 65 MPH. The 6.4L doesn't even struggle I can slow down and gain the speed right back with the 6.4! Oh yea, at 40+ PSI those twins are screamin!
my boost pressure is wierd. sometimes it stays around 20psi when cruising. i have seen it as high as 40 not pulling anything and doing about 80 mph on the freeway. one day it hovered arounf 35 psi for about 2 1/2 hours. i asked ford about this and they didn't have an answer. turbo bearing will probably be the next thing to go out on this truck.
