53-56 Hood - reverse tilt kits?
Didn't you know the CPP kit was made in China to begin with..? It's easy enough to lift the hood if you're using the engine hoist with some straps. Place some blankets on your fenders to protect them from scratches. Hood really isn't that heavy, more awkward than anything else but I've been managing myself with taking it off and on..
That is what I used. It is very high quality. I do not have the truck finished, but I did all the hood work for the kit.
Tilt that hood.
Ya 56 panel. I thought the CCP Tilt was made in Georgia. Not China. Okay we go with that. Still working up some details and a little paint. Polishing ths stainless. They placed some preventer on it. Thick stuff. Comes right off with Alcohaul. I done some measuring and my Snap on unit will work just fine.
I think most of the stuff from CPP is made in China. I was a little miffed when I received my order from them thinking it was American made but was happy enough with it. First kit I bought was from Midfifty. second kit I made by copying the first then bought a third kit from Amazon for the truck I'm doing now..seems most of the stuff now is made in China and the quality is right up there ..
55 tilt hood
Ya been following my post on these tilt kits and seen so.e of the prices $500.on down to $110. I found a $110. On Fleebay claimed he bought it for his Ford but sold it and bought a Chevy never installed the CCP unit. I too thought it was a tilt kit made in the good old US A..I was wrong. It's made in China and sold thru several outlets including Mid 50 now long gone. I worked on my stock hindges but they never worked. Infact out of the factory in Kansas they weren't worth a darn. So that's when I decided to try this tilt stuff. I hope it works out. Just got to keep reading and hope I can get it right.AJ
