Gentlemen - do you have any opinions regarding the No Limit kit in comparison to the CPP kit? I've been looking at the kits myself, liking the No Limit, so wanted to see if any know of significant differences. They're priced about the same.

the difference is that the cpp kit has the roller on the hood and the ramp on the body, while the no limit kit has the ramp on the hood and the roller on the body.. (reverse of the cpp kit)..
I find the plate that NL uses to hold the roller to be ugly and distracting. you can see the plate on the left side of the image shown on the NL link
here is a side view of my truck, you can see both the ramp and the roller on the hood..

Hey Sam, Thanks for your response and photo - your truck is sweet!
One more question (if you don't mind) - Your truck, on the ramp where it attaches to the body, are there two attachment points for the ramp or one?
I'm going to throw in my two cents worth on this topic. I had a cpp tilt on my truck when I got it. One problem I found was trying to work in the engine compartment with the ramp in my way. I caught many a shirt on it when I was working and it always just seemed to just "be in the way." (Not the best of reasons for not having the kit, but the annoyance was enough for me.) I also found that the roller would occassionally come off the ramp and the hood would rub against the fender. I also noticed that the hood would vibrate quite a bit when I was cruising at highway speeds because the roller wasn't tight in between the upper and lower supports on the ramp. (And yes, I tried adjusting the hood, the roller, and the ramp many, many times, but with no success. I even got different rollers thinking that the originals were the wrong size. Who knows what the PO did....maybe that was the problem from the start) So I tried the No Limit and have been very happy. Nothing in my way when I'm working and the way the mechanism works; it was easy to adjust and keeps the hood securely in place.
you beat me to it.. 2 one uses the last fender bolt hole, as a up/down clamp (between the inner and outer fender, lower right in the pic attached)
and the rear pocket for the adjustable post.

For obvious reasons I am siding with Herbiehusker on this one. I think my No Limit hood flip kit looks beautiful! Plus it never had a problem with scraping at the cowl when opening or closing./

Thanks Herbiehusker - your experience is valuable for those who haven't made a decision - gives me something to "chew on".

Sam - Thanks again - your explanation and photos are very useful in defining the differences in each kit. Beautiful job on truck!

I like the No Limit kit too. I like a lot of their products, but what is keeping me from buying them is the fact that I don't like their name on all of the parts.
Not quite a flip, but has anybody mounted a Volvo hood hardware under a Ford truck hood? The Volvo flips up to near straight and gets the flat Volvo hood out of the way. It wouldn't be as trick as a front flip, but it might be different. I just happened to think about it because I was walking around some hoodless Volvos in a junk yard.
