My wife and I went down to Moultrie last weekend and I saw several '53-'56 trucks with the tilt-hoods. I saw the tech article here, but I am wondering if there is kit that can be purchased for this conversion. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Welcome to the site; there are many vender that offer kits for the reverse hood on vintage trucks. I got mine from Mid-Fifty's You can also use the hinges from a volvo with some frabrication. I had to cut about 1/4 inch from the rear of my hood to get it to fit correctly. There were also many minor adjustment that had to be mad to get it the way I wanted it.

I bought one from No Limit Engineering, installed it (or tired too (I had to add a 1/4 to the back)) after screwing around with that thing for what seemed like forever I replaced it with a kit from Classic Performance Products (removed the 1/4) and I think it works great. They had a article on installing this kit in one of the truck mags a few months ago
One of the names I recall seeing was the No Limits. Of course, all the hoods I looked at were in the open position, I did not think to ask anyone how the kits rated, installation-wise and fit-wise.
Go here for the article.http://www.classicperform.com/tilthoodford.htm I would like to hear from guy's who have actually used and/or installed the kits as we have all read the ads from various suppliers.
