Thanks TO. I checked it out and I will try and give them a call after the holidays. I live in California and the word is out that the older diesels might be on the bi-anual smog list in a couple of years. I really don't want to mess with the computer that would set me up for a fail. Can I keep my old stock computer and was it an extra 200 clams to use theirs. I think I need to call them. Another thing, I have a turbo back exhaust which eliminated my cat. I will probably need a performance cat and as of yet I have not found one.
Look into Jody's F-5 Chip. You could pull the chip completely off (easy to do) for smog testing. Or just hide the control module and set the chip to stock before you go for testing. Jody's F-5 chip allows up to 16 different programs to be used, all at the push of a button, and plugs right up to your stock computer.
Easy as this...call Jody, tell him what you're looking for, your concerns about smog testing, etc. He's an awesome guy to talk to, and super nice to boot, as is his wife. Fair warning though, he may have some calls to catch up on after the holidays. If he doesn't answer, leave a message and he'll get you called back.
Exellent jth. I think I do remember having talked Jody once before, but that was a couple of years ago. I have saved the link that TO sent and will be calling them by mid Janurary. A friend of mine has a Diablo plug and play in his 2000, problem is he got a little wild once and over programed it while towing a trailer. Needless to say, exit one transmission.
I will say this for the Diablo vs DP...I had a Diablo before I switched to DP. After the switch, you couldn't pay me to run the Diablo again. Everything about the truck, the way it runs and drives is better with the DP. More power, lower EGTs, smoother, etc.
