I have heard that it is a good idea to replace the factory CPS. Where is a good place to get a replacement? I am looking at this one from Pure Diesel Power.
Wait... don't do that!! There has been some question as to whether the blue CPS was actaully an improvement over the original. I honestly don't know, but what I DO know is that Ford has now come out with a replacement CPS that has a wider sensor pickup range (should be better, right), and it's only about $25. One of the sit esponsors, dfuser, has it and will ship it to your door for $25. Link is below.
Sooo... is this new one any good either? Lots of FTE'er's have already made the purchase and install with no problems, myself and one of my personal friends being among this growing success story. My old one was still working fine, so now it is in my glove box as a verified spare unit that I know I can depened on.
I ran the blue and didn't have problems but for the price of the new Ford "B" model I wouldn't buy another blue. Also, if you are running a tuner or chip the blue might not be a good idea. I know that DP Tuner and Diesel Innovations (my tuner) advise against the blue.
