more CPS talk-cold starts and Stuff

i've been reading a lot of threads on the CPS and which is better and what not. I had the recall done about 2 years ago and have the GREY CPS. Since then it seems like since then my truck just hasn't ran the same, rough idles, power seems hit and miss depending on the day, have intermittent cold start problems in the winter (GP system tests out perfect).

Just wondering if these could be due to the grey CPS. I'm thinkin bout gettin one of the new ones (blue??) and see if that changes anything. what do you guys think?

I think it's a good idea to have a spare. With that in mind, why not pick up one of these new ones and try it out? Throw your existing one in a ziplock bag and stick it in the glove box. Then report back how your truck likes the new CPS.

For $20 - $25, it's a cheap test.

Online you can probably find one for around $20 plus shipping. Your local dealer probably sells them for $25. I'd just visit the local dealer.

The new one is actually dark gray with a purple o-ring. I picked up a couple at my local International dealer for 24.00 a piece. My Excursion doesn't seem to run any better with it but at least my truck isn't showing contribution codes in AE anymore.

Did you happen to look at rotational velocity values before and after the change using AE? I'd be curious to see what you found if you did.
