SS 304 is almost twice the price of alluminized is it that much of a diff. or would washing off the salt after the beach be all you need? I just dont wan't to wast money. If i will have to replace my exhaust in 5 to 10 years then 304 might be worth the $.

The 304 is a much better grade of SS. I went with 409 because we don't get a lot of bad weather, but I wanted SS. I do spend time in FL near the Gulf as well.
About the stock DP, it's a 3 1/2" pipe, but it's not mandrel bent. All the aftermarket ones are generally 4" mandrel bent (even on the 5" system), so it's MUCH less restrictive. I like the looks and sound of mine with the MBRP muffler in line. I *MIGHT* take it out one of these days just to hear it without the muffler. To me, it sounds like a big V8 with glass packs & a bonus turbo whistle.
The 304 system is a very good system and will probably outlast the truck. The 409 will get surface rust on it, but it isn't a big deal. I expect it to outlast the truck as well. Up to you whether it's worth the $$$ or not.
I've never had a stainless exhaust and tend to keep vehicles a long time
I have only replaced one system due to rust in many years and that was on a '84 bonco2 that came from tenn,
so I figure a 60 one of two thing will become of my aluminized system 1-I sell the truck to get something smaller at which time sombody else can worry about it 2- somebody will inherit the truck again somebody elses problem
Personally I prefer the 4" over the 5" exhaust kits, I find that the 5" kits get a drone to them, especially when towing. Have you seen our 3 in 1 Digital X-Monitor Gauges, we have a special running on them this month.
I prefer analog gauges -- I don't have to look directly at them to know about where the needle is. I know when I stomp on it, where the 25 psi mark is on my boost gauge and the 1200 mark is on my EGT gauge. I can see them on the A-pillar out the corner of my eye while looking straight out the windshield. Yes, it's an issue "in the heat of battle"...
Not that there's anything wrong with digi-wigi gauges, I just prefer the other...
I agree its personal preference, I run analog gauges myself.
The digital set ups are nice too because its one wire up to the display, instead of a dozen are so. The X-Monitor has nice features like visual alarms that will aluminate and flash "in the heat of the moment" as well as the option to go back and see highest achievements in case you missed it.
The install time and costs of an X-Monitor is about half that of analog gauges and with the December sale price it makes for a very affordable set up for those on a budget but in need of gauges.
