I just dumped a bunch of pm's so it should be good. Sorry about that. Maybe I should just become a supporter and be done with it

I see the fleetfilter web site is actualy useable compared to napa's site. If the factory underhood Fuel/Water Separator is retained then the 3528 would be the filter to run?

I see that the 3405 separator is rated for 12gpm/12 micron and the 3528 filter 12-15gpm/2micron. being that they are the same physical size, does the 3528 filter have more surface area to obtain a simialr flow rate given a 6x finer filter media? given that they have about the same flow rating, would the restriction seen by the factory pump be the same?

I order the ITP kit but couldn't spend $70 on a filter that goes between a screen and filter, that would then need another fuel pump.

So I am looking for a reasonably priced, course, low restiction filter.

Smoky, I asked Dennis (ITP) about this very same helper pump. Note, I flip flopped the positon of the filter, but you will get the point. You seem to be a math guy so this should help you quite a bit.

"If the fuel pump already has a problem, the filter "might" help bring it to light. That filter presents next to no restriction to the pump, <1psi of pressure drop at 200gph, the stock pump moves about 35gph. I have a ton of those filters out there with no problems at all.

Some guys like the helper pump deal, but you have to put the helper AFTER the filter (between the filter and the factory pump). The Baldwin water separator is designed to be on the suction side, it won't remove any water on the pressure side." - Dennis
