I can also make my own go juice for it without getting an ATF license first. Get the diesel, learn to make your own fuel, and laugh at the gassers crying about fuel prices (at least in summer)
that is the first thing that came to mind and i am waiting for the day someone says they sell a filter kit for running Biodiesel and i will be making it like the older people made White Lightning LOL except legal

The more i look at the V10 the more i like it, i would love to have a PSD but i am still weighing the differences, i am really thankful for the input, and i would like to hear more. I plan on keeping this truck for 15+ years and i know that is hard to say but i am already running on 9 years with my 97 F-250 Light Duty w/5.4L, it is good for some of the work we were doing with it but now that i want to tow a trailer and have some load i need something stronger. If it was not for that we would keep it longer. So i really need something that will tow for long distances in heavy to mild traffic for atleast 13-16 hours per day, pull heavy loads when i need it to and be reliable for years to come.

Yea I would definitly go with the PSD, with the optional supplemental cab heater, you start getting heat a lot sooner than normal, and its only avalible with the PSD.

I think the current and past PSD engines have gone a long way to promoting the V-10.

The 6.4L and the V-10 seems to get around the same fuel mileage and have about the same towing capacity.

The great Diesel vs. Gasser debate, it will never end. Buy what you want-need.

That must be one optioned out Lariat v10 for 55K, I just went to the ford site and had to take just about every option to get close to 55K. I would look at other dealers to see what you could really get a v10 for, if it suites your needs.

no it is not the options that brings it up to that number, the V10 i saw was 43K but it had a copy paper in the front that said Dealer Price and the price was 55K. When i went to ask why the jump they said the V10 sells in the first week they have it so they had to add their own price and even with that someone bought it the next day. All the dealerships around here have nothing but PSDs just sitting on the lot, so they can afford to sell them cheap but the V10 is where they make their money. Even my dealership in my city wants 50K for an XLT V10 but the sticker is like 40K

the best practice when shopping a new vehicle is to find a dealer that works on cost plus basis. who cares what the retail costs are. if you work off the invoice prices the options all get much cheaper. that is the easiest way to compare costs of different options. if a dealer won't work that way find one that will. there are plenty of ford dealers to choose from

OK, I am gullible but dealers getting a premium for v10's. Am I not understanding something here?

it is like what 99% of dealerships did with the new GT500 mustang, the sticker says 45K but they got wind it might be a limited run vehicle so they started selling them at 40-50K over sticker and people bought them. Down here the V10 is a hot truck because gas is at its mid and will go lower (regular is at $2.50 and diesel is at $3.25) so people want the V10 and dealers see this so they crank up the price to meet the demand. i would have to go out of state or higher north to get a decent price on a V10

Are there any rebates on the diesel that make it more attractive price-wise?
