I have a 97 psd 4x4 i bought the truck cheap but i like it a lot. The tranny has been acting up for a while you have to floor it thru 1st back off the petal to get it to shift it skips 2nd and goes right to 3rd i know all about the e4od and its problems with the vb and tc and the very weak flex plate seeing is i have done 2 of them. I had taken the tranny out sent it out to be rebuilt put it back in and still having same problem exept it does shift into 2nd now But you still have to revv it up thru first to get it to shift. I have been told a bad speedocluster can cause tranny problems everything seems fine the tranny has new solonoids in it but i still having problems and i trying everything before i take it back to the tranny shop they garauntee there work they told me its probably the frib sensor. what the heck is a frib sensor? they told me it controls the tranny it senses throttle , engine speed and shifts acording anybody got any ideas? thanks
I have heard the speed sensor can do funny things. I think it is on top of the rear end housing. You can remove it and clean it and reinstall. Do you have the same TC? Do you thinkk that could be the problem? Sorry I am not a big auto guy. Hope this helps.
its a brand new tc but i will try anything now i ' m $2,400 into the truck that i only paid $3,300 on. i basically stole this truck but the was told about the tranny problem before i bought it. I bought it from a friend who hates fords his loss my gain right
