fix problem with e4od gained another
ok guys fyi I have a 1994 ford f250 4wd with a e40d first problem was it was shifting hard in 1st thru 2nd when ever it felt like I did everything from fluids to every sensor you can imagine even adujusted tps to specs still had problems well after 20 trips to diffrent part stores different brands of tps sensor finally just went to the ford dealer bought a factory ford sensor 100 bucks pricy comparded to 30 bucks slaped it on check specs with volt meter was reading perfect without even adjusting shifts nice even seems to run smoother so if any buddy has gone through this sometimes factory parts are better. Ok now after all that It shifts nice but I noticed now that on a long trip or in town on a hot day no load on truck the engine seems to be getting a little hot with a/c on and when this happens the tranny starts its crap again could a bigger tranny cooler help or flush the cooling system and replace thermostat help any ideas would help.
I had a similar problem with my 1992 F-150, 351, 2wd. Tried an after market TPS and still had problems, bought the Ford one and lots of improvements. Quite a while later I was having problems that seemed to be engine temperature related, poor/hard shifting. My cooling system was almost all new parts because I had done an engine rebuild but I had used some sensors from the old engine. I replaced the engine temp sensor and everything was good again. No more shifting issues and that was almost a year ago.
