I just got my tranny back from getting rebuilt. I am having shifting issues. 1st and 2nd are the same. When I manually shift between 1st and 2nd it's the same. There is no down shift when I go from 2nd to 1st. It is also not up shifting until I left off the gas in D. The tranny guy used his shaffer shifter on it and the truck ran great. It shifted really strong thru all the gears. When I hooked up all the harnesses it continued with the problems. It has a banks trAnscommand module that came on the truck. I am not sure how it is wired into the harness but I would like to remove it. When I disconnect it the OD light starts flashing but shifts exactly the same.
I removed and put the tranny in. The shop tried to pull codes but nothing came up. They also dropped the pan and the fluid looked like it came right out the bottle...really clean. I looked at all the similar posts here but I did not see any where people had the banks module...any help would awsome...thanks

 

If the trans shifts with some aftermarket controller (I assume that's what you meant) then the problem is outside the trans. The first thing to do Is read the codes. Whoever did it either didn't have the right tool or didn't know how to use it.

 

He pulled the codes on it before i had it rebuilt.It wasn't displaying any codes after i put the tranny back in.That's when he tried the shaffer shifter to make sure it was nothing internal. Since he couldn't pull any codes he told me to check all the wiring or maybe a blown fuse. I just did a quick check last night and could not find anything disconnected. I was wondering if that banks transcommand wiring may have come loose or if I knocked something loose pulling out the tranny.
