Well finally put my lift in. Went with the 12.5" donahoe. Very happy so far. Now I need advice on driveshafts. Anyone have an opinion on front driveshaft issues? the front shaft mounts up stock but could be lengthened aprox 3" and im going to notch and beef up the tranfercase plate so driveshaft has lots of clearance there as well. In an earlier post it was mentioned if i dont lengthen the front shaft it could bottom out and crack off the tranfercase housing. Would that be caused by the driveshaft fully comperessing? cant see that as its out so much farther now. Or would it be caused when/if the drivehsaft pulls too far out and seperates? I assume that would cause the driveshaft to flop around and smash the case? Just wondering if thats what was meant or if im missing something.
I lifted mine 10 inches. I did a sky jacker 8" soft ride and 2 inch shackles. The truck rides really nice compared to some of my buddy's super duty's, and most of them are only running 6-8 iches of lift.

No other way to go for trucks with serious lift. I spent quite a bit of time talking with him today and purchased a complete new shaft for the rear of my X and it only has around 5" of lift. He know's his stuff. Highly recomend.
Take a look at the X's on his website, you'll understand.
Due to the height of my lift I had to cut the rear spring blocks off and turn up the rear diffy to get the propper angles needed. Did all that yesterday in the shop. Lots of measuring with a degree wheel to get everything right. With everything welded back into place i called jesse with measurments. He Is now making my new front and rear shafts. He tells me I wont even have to modify my tranfercase mount to clear the front driveshaft. He will design the shaft to clear it. Great news! Now its just a waiting game till the shafts arrive.
