anything more than that is custom....I am surprised they make a 10" lift for the excursions! My question is WHY? lift sucks! If I had a DD I would take out my lift and hack my fenders! Not to mention it is illegal (not that I have ever payed any attention) Are you gonna stuff 44's under it or something?

That cracked me up.

You are talking a custom lift, along with allot of other work. Hope you have deep pockets.

Methinks somebody is eyeballing the 49" Iroks

Actually several companies offer a 12" system. Donahoe Racing and Full Throttle Suspensions make lifts this size. Actually Donahoe's "Edge" kits are 12.5". You might want to post this in either the excursion or superduty forum for more responses.

By the way, Donahoe is located somewhere in Cali, and is a member (and sponsor) of this site.

I thought he was looking for a 14", but reading back I see its just a 12". I've heard of Donahoe Racing, they make good stuff. If they have a kit for you I would probably look at that first.

yea 14" was my ideal size i wanted it , but i think 12" will do just fine. haha 49" iroks thats just to big i dont even think id like the way those would look, there is some guy out here driving a 4x4 excursion with a 20" inch lift on 44" tires. i think that 12" will be a good size but yet still no to high. i know ill have to change my drive shafts and what not but we'll see what happends. Actually by the summer ill give my self a budget of 5- 6 grand for a lift and tires... i want to shop around and see what i can get for that money , if worse comes to worse ill just get the 10" lift
I have 2 cars right now heck im only 22, i only need one so once my other car sells ill have the money to do it maybe b4 the summer.

oh yea as far as tires go i like the 38" inch M/T baja claw or the 39.5" SS boggers............ ive been learning more about these things and i have realised that the bigger i go the faster ***** will break so ill stay away from the 44" and the 14" lift

If your budget is around 5-6k, this lift will be hard to do. Lets say you buy a nice new set of rims.. at 300$ a pop.. if you are going for a nice aluminum set. thats 1200$. Add to that tires, for that size a min of 300$ a pop, so you are already looking at 2,400$ in just wheels and tires, only leaving between 2,500 to 3,600$ for your lift. The donahoe racing edge lifts for 10.5" and 12.5" start at 3,600$ or so. That price is off of his website and includes xover steering which would be needed anyways. I think your best bet to go, on your budget, is to go with superlift or skyjacker smaller system, add a hanger lift, then fab up, or have someone fab up, the necessary hardware like relocated trac bar brackets, shock hoops sway bar links, whatever to save you some money. If that doesn't sound like it will work then you prbably could just sell both cars and then lift it

Go to the super duty forum or the Ex forum and look around for Overkill or Mr.Rottendog. Both of those boys run big lifts on their exes. If you send me an e-mail I can hook you up with a good shop. Where in L.A. are you? Whatever you do, do not use ORU. As for Mr. Donahoe he was booted for a week today so you will have to wait a bit to hear a response from him.

i am running 39.5" IROK's with a 6" lift up front and 5" lift out back.....why do you think you need a 12" to clear 38's?

BTW......Mickey's are gonna be expensive either way you go....I woulod look into a different tire!

When you look at tire choices watch the load rating on the tires. A lot of the bias tires are 6ply and the weight rating has a broad range, some kind of low. For example, the 38.5" Claws only have a 2400lb rating.

If you want to avoid having to spend the money on crossover steering and trac bar relocation you could just stick with a 8" lift.

Here is a 8" Edge and 38" PJs:

Hope this helps.
