I'm having more fun. I tried the IDM mod and for some reason it didn't work. I ended up blowing mine up and wasting a lot of time with the truck sitting in the driveway. I then order a rebuilt IDM of ebay for 250 dollars. I ordered the 2000 superduty IDM with the part number XC3Z-12B599-AA. I just put it in tongiht and the truck fired right up, but runs like crap. It lobs alot. I dont have a check engine light or anything like that, but a rough idle. it does idle at 600 rpm. When I step on the gas there is a second of hesitation and then it takes off. I know some of you guys are running these IDMs is this the way it is suppose to be. I dont think I like it.
Casey something is wrong. I would say there is a problem with that IDM. Unless somehow the old IDM fried a valve cover gasket or UVC. Did your old IDM after modded make the truck run at all? or did it just fry right away? Did you buy the rebuilt from that computer rebuilder in Florida?
Yes the old one fried right away. It never got started. And yes again the saler is in florida. Do you think that I shoud check the gaskets? They are only a couple of months old.

I let it run for about five minutes. Think I should run it more. Could air in the oil lines caues this to happen. I had to remove my cross over for the oil to put in a new fuel pump.
That didn't work. I had no power the whole time. I couldn't get over 60mph, and the egts were through the roof. At 50mph it was 1200 degrees. I felt like I was running on two cylinders and as it warmed up it seemed to get worse. Any ideas?
Possible the new IDM is junk?
Also i would do a resistance test of each inj coil. Possible the old IDM burnt a coil? I have to go find the resistance of the coil. Unless someone gets to it before i do.
It should code if its the IDM
no oil leak or check engine light. The ebpv has become an exhaust brake so it dosen't close unless I want it to. Plus I think I would know that sound if it was stuck closed. Thanks though. Any other ideas?
Also remove the connector from the IDM. Check to see if all the pins are OK.
They can bend out of place. Take a look at the harness also.
You had no problem before the IDM swap correct?
