ecu firing order change

hey guys. I have a 1964 ford f100 with a 292 that i am gonna put a 5.0 fuel injection system on, but i have a few questions. the intake will be custom made.
1. what are all the options to change the firing order in the ecu.i know about the tweecer but what else can be used??? can a chip be burned with the changed firing order. i
2.the distributor acts like a cam position sensor right?????
3. what sytem should be used. speed density or mass-air. keep in mind, this motor will eventually recieve a custom blower setup so the fuel injection needs to work with the blower when i add. it
4. was the 5.0 used with the new obd II system????? from what i am led to believe, the 5.0 was phased out in like 96. is this correct?????
thanx guys.

http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=9 Check the aftermarket computers if you want the
best power and economy get a computer that will allow you to run it as a sequential
injection setup instead of batch firing!!

You will want MAF if you are going to use the blower later on. Yes, the TFI dizzy acts as a cam position sensor to find #1 cyl. The 96 Explorer may have been a 5.0 with OBD-II.

My 96 150 is mass air OBD-II. The 5.0 continued on in the explorer (with better heads) to 2001 I think.

Probably not. How much tuning are you planning on doing?

I'd definitely stick with something that will be simpler to wire than the OBD-II stuff. Something along the lines of either 87-88 speed density mustang computer or 89-93 mass air mustang computer. Either should perform fine with tuning and have plenty of resources to achieve that tuning. Speed density/mass air, it doesn't really matter a whole lot when you are going to be tuning anyway. As long as the MAP sensor can sense the amount of boost you are planning on running. Good luck on the project! I really like the old 292 in my former roommate's 64 F250...

Might be easier to go with an aftermarket controller like F.A.S.T. to control the 5.0 EFI with the mods needed to make it work on your application. Very tunable.
