97 Ranger P1443 code
97 Ranger
4.0L Auto
66,000 miles
P1443= little or no purge flow.
Check the evap cansiter vacuum hose connections & hose condition. Look for loose fitting, cracked, split, or disconnected vacuum lines.
I suppose a vacuum leak could be a factor in the tranny shifting, but it's probably a sparate problem.
Did both come about at the same time????
If not, are you having any speed-o problems, say with it being unsteady????
How is the condition & level of your tranny fluid????
Has the fluid & filter ever been changed in those 66K miles????

ALL DATA info on their computer..so I went there as well......
I think that this light NOT being on, the Check Eng light, must have been removed due to the fact that the light was STAYING on.....so the prevous owner prob disconnected it, or took the bulb out. Even getting the hoses checked, and the P1443 issue dealt with, I think I'm prob going to have to take out the instrument panel to get the bulb fixed, or wiring......what a pain....meanwhile the temp's are running out in 2 weeks...hopefully we'll get it all figured out before then.
Thanks again for the link....I'll take any info to get this resolved!
