Cool EBPV problems

My exhaust back pressure valve is engaging while driving, and engaging at will, whenever it wants. Only disengages by revving above 1600.

WTF?

Can i remove it?

whats the temp outside and oil preassure,
both are monitred by the PCM when its below 32 deg. and will close even while driving at low rpms untill oil preassure rises and engine heat builds, then it will disengauge, its a ford preset to help it warm up.

Check this out first. Its normal for it to come on while driving when its that cold out. The oil has to warm up a good amount before it will stop operating. It opens when you rev that high because the EBPS senses a higher back pressure and opens the valve so you dont build up too much pressure and float an exhaust valve.

Like bigtorque said, it'll operate until one of the temps is above the specs. For the outside temp, its 32 and for the oil temp its 131. It takes a while to get all that oil warmed up that much, but as it gets warmer, the amount the valve closes will be less, so less lag.
