99 Expedition A4WD Engaging

I have a 1999 EB A4WD Expedition with aproximately 52,000 miles. I have been having a problem with the A4WD engaging on dry pavement. I am usally cornering tight when I notice (puulling into a parking space etc...) the front wheels severely binding. The first time I took it into the dealership they told me that the computer needed to be reprogrammed. This was done and there were no problems for about a month. The problem returned and with more frequency. I took it back to the dealership and this time I was told that the car needed new tires. It seems that uneven wear was causing the sensors to read too much speed variance between the front and rear tires, causing the A4WD to engage. I just got the car back from the shop yesterday with new tires and when pulling into a parking space today, I had the same problem. Has anyone had similar experiences? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
