Yes there were some of use that had wind noise problems. This was extensively talked about a while ago. I do not know how to post a link to the thread but it does start back on 11-30-2004. It covers all experiences and how some of us fixed the problem(me being one of them).Maybe someone can post the link. It was called wind noise. BWEP

It seems that any faults that I have found in my truck have been discussed before, even the wind noise. There is a difference in the wind noise in my truck, however that I haven't seen discussed. It seems to come from behind the seat, and you hear it from both sides, like it is in the center! My truck is an 07 regular cab "without" a tonneau cover. (This will change by next Tuesday though. A sprayed in liner goes in Monday morning, and a new tonneau cover goes in Monday afternoon.) I am wondering if the back window, is acting like a soundboard, or whether the body is conducting wind, and road noise through the panel behind the seat. Maybe the XL doesn't have the sound killing insulation of an XLT, or Lariat, you get the idea. It isn't LOUD, but it is present and noticeable, and if I can, I'd like to get it to go away. If anyone has any ideas, or knowledge on this, I would appreciate your posts, or views...
I agree with the fact that Ford will not address any issue they are not directly aware off.
I know the 04-06's had the issue with the windshield not being sealed properly. That makes three sources for the wind noise that I know of. 1) the windsheild, 2) the mirrors, 3) and the door gaps.

Hey! I remember you. It's been a while. How you doin'? Anyway..
If you're interested in voicing your issues to Big Blue, you may want to call the customer support line....
Good to have you back!
You may want to see if Ken can change your user name back to your old one. I think he or one of the other mods can do that...
Hey wildcard 30 - Thanks for the welcome back. I'm doing great, how about yourself? Think I'll keep my new username, seeing as how Mark Martin ain't driving the 6 car anymore, hell, he defected to a damn Chevy! What's this world coming to? LOL!!
[SVT2205...FYI I am not a new member but a senior user with 163 posts and a member since May '06. Haven't posted in a while due to relocation and since changing ISP had to re-register with FTE. I invite you to check out my gallery at my former username nascar6dude. By the way, I bleed blue, having owned Ford trucks exclusively for 35 years. I only point out my truck's faults in the hopes someone at Ford reads these posts and passes owners' concerns on to the design teams. Thanks for the warm welcome back.
My '07 is the quietest vehicle, truck or car, that I have ever owned. Weird how you can get so much of a difference between production vehicles. I get compliments about how quiet it is. The seats and cupholders are personal preference items, and I like the door mounted cupholders and love the seats, but to each his own.

Just a thought, but I noticed those who own SuperCrews don't seem to have a wind noise issue. Perhaps it only affects R/C's and S/C's with the rear hinged doors. Hey snowdog 79, I see you owned a '00 F-150, I had an '01. Didn't you think the captain's chairs in that one were more comfortable than these new ones? I sure did. You actually sat IN those seats as opposed to sitting ON these new ones.
Better brakes? Doesn't the '06 have 4-wheel discs w/ABS like the '07? If so, I don't see how they could get any better. If not, then I guess they did correct it on the '07 models.

Yes they do and they worked great for about 5k miles. Really stopped the truck with authority. But as they get a little wear on them the pedal travel increases and they're not as confidence inspiring, especially when you've got the bed loaded down. To say nothing about the cheap pads slinging brake dust all over your nice front alloys. I plan to upgrade to a Powerslot/ Hawk combo soon.
