I hope Ford addresses the horrendous wind noise in the current trucks. Can't tell if it's the door seals or the flat rearview mirrors, but my '06 is annoyingly loud, especially on a breezy day. Spy shots also show Ford retaining the ridiculous cupholders in the bottom of the doors that you scuff up when exiting.Ford needs to listen to current owners and make the changes WE need, and not what the bean counters dictate. Namely more power w/ better fuel economy, more comfortable seats, and stronger brakes that don't sling dust all over your wheels. Just my 2 cents.
I think if your truck has annoyingly loud wind noise something is wrong. Have you checked to see if your windshield is sealed properly? Other members on here have had similar isssues and found solutions. Have you done a search on this site?
I have a 2004 SCab 4x4 and my truck is very quiet inside the cabin while traveling down the road. In terms of the cupholders, I think they do that to say they have more cupholders than x, y, or z. The cloth seats look nice (the fabric needs to be more stain resistant) but could be a bit more comfortable. I think my brakes are great. < This is after I changed my pads to Wagner Thermo Quiets.

Thanks. Great first post!
I don't have wind noise. I don't scuff my door cup holder. Power and fuel economy really aren't something that work in pairs very well... and if you had more power you would keep your foot in the gas more and thus get crappy mileage. I like my seats. Put ceramic pads in, less than $200 and install them yourself.
Yes, there is a huge wind noise problem and it affects the Expeditions too. It's one of two things. 1) the mirrors. Tape the trailing edge of the outside mirrors using a wide masking tape. If the noise it gone, they need to be replaced. 2) the wind is coming in past the outer weatherstripping on the A pillar. The door does not shut tight enough towards the body to make a tight seal. Mine is so bad water and dirt get past this with ease. While your driving and it's noisy, use your finger to break the seal of the inner most weather stripping where the A pillar turns back towards the rear. If the noise gets much louder and you can feel/hear whistling and wind, bingo. Found the problem.
I question posts like this. New user, nothing good to say, didn't care where he posted it, hasn't posted again (only been 2 days).... I think there's something fishy here....
FWIW, we own a 04 Expy and a 07 Supercab. Neither truck has wind noise that I would deem unacceptable. But everyone's tolerance level is different, so who knows.
Maybe its possible that his ww cowl is somewhat loose to the point to where its acting like some sort of "wing" and re-directing air? Don't mind me...just thinkin' out-loud......
I checked out a few 08 Expys and F150's and I see some of the have a lot of gap between the windshield molding and door frame on the A pillar. This is going to be the source of wind noise.
My 04 has no wind noise, brakes are good even with oversized tires(50,000 miles on stock now).the cup holders in bottom of the doors did receive some scufs in the beginning but after touching them a few times, I know where they are now and don't bother me anymore.
I dont have much wind noise on the '05, but the passenger half door on my reg cab rattles a bit on a rough trail. The drivers door doesnt do this. Seems like the weatherstripping could be a little fatter, as the doors seem to close quite easily. Other than that, no complaints as I have replaced the brake pads, air intake and muff. Also sprayed the cloth seats with Scotchguard. Been checking out the slotted/drilled rotors, pulling the boat needs lots of brake. (No trailer brakes). And they look cool too.
[SVT2205...FYI I am not a new member but a senior user with 163 posts and a member since May '06. Haven't posted in a while due to relocation and since changing ISP had to re-register with FTE. I invite you to check out my gallery at my former username nascar6dude. By the way, I bleed blue, having owned Ford trucks exclusively for 35 years. I only point out my truck's faults in the hopes someone at Ford reads these posts and passes owners' concerns on to the design teams. Thanks for the warm welcome back.
Hmm. So your saying we shouldn't use these forums for comments on Ford products? We should all just call the 800 number?
Of course not. But like with anything else, if you call the folks direct, you know they now know about your concerns. As for posting them here, people see them. But how do you know Ford, or someone at Ford is checking every thread, on every forum, for every possible problem. Rants are great. But ranting to your sister about your wife doesn't do much to let her know you have concerns.
And your point is?
Or are you looking for something in particular?

My 2007 Screw KR 5.4 4x4 is like a bank vault. I have no wind noise issues. I have owned alot of high end vehicles and this truck is as quiet as any of them. Ford built this thing right. Alot of attention to detail.
