Is anyone aware of a fix for the driver's side door wind noise?
Mine has developed that issue within the last week or so. The door is aligned very well and the weatherstripping isn't compromised.
Anyone try the weed string trimmer trick like we would do with the Superdutys? Both sections of weatherstripping (door and cab) are very supple, I can see why this is an issue. Either Ford needs to firm up one set or have the door close closer to body (which obviously would cause issues with alignment) would be my guess for a permanent fix.
Yep, Epic's fix has been all over the internet for years. I did that on my '00 Excursion a few years ago and was happy with the result, but it was a major PITA. I still have the fish tape and some leftover tubing, but I'm not convinced this will fix anything on my F150. I'm almost thinking the issue isn't poor sealing by the weather strip, as it sounds different than the wind noise I've heard before.

Exactly, it's "different" The best I can describe it, is it sounds like a really windy day, like 60+ mph gusts. However, it's a calm day and only driving about 50 mph.
I am fairly certain mine is coming from the leading edge of the door.
I had the horrible wind/road noise as well. It came from the back of the driver side door, where it met the B pillar.
Took it a couple of days to the dealer and they ended up adjusting the door (loosened the hinge bolts just a tad) and also moved the striker.
The noise was reduced by I would say 50%. Its still there just not as prominently. Others had restored to adding more weaterstripping or weather strip. I think I'll take it back because it is very annoying

I read where the guys over at F150forums were adjusting the hinge and striker.
I did the surgical tubing on my Excursion and my 2002 harley F150 I had. Didn't like it on either one. Made the door to hard to close. I had to slam the door to close.

I did the mod on my 2005 and my 2006. I used really thinwall 5/16 versus the standard 3/8 most use.
I'm very certain moving the striker would take care of mine... So much for that though. Seems to me some guys are smacking it with a hammer to budge it? I won't go that far with mine.
I definitely wouldn't hit the striker with a hammer that just sounds like a terrible idea lol. If that's what a body shop would do - well they're insured.
Yeah I was thinking either a thinner wall or maybe cutting it in half and seeing how well it holds rigidity enough in the seal.
