Get the 35-308-8. You will not recognize your truck afterwards. I've run stock HO cams advanced, F4TE cam with 1.7 rr's and the 35-308-8 in truck apps.
The comp cams off the shelf bumpstick was above and beyond the breadwinner in that battle. It's well worth the extra cash flareside.... especially if you already have mass air.
If you go alphabet or HO cam, your truck will be a dog under 3000 rpms like Paul said. That is.... in comparison to a well matched cam for your truck.
Maybe I'll consider it a bit more...I'm already tearing into that part of the engine anyways and I'm picking up some Comp Cams 1.7 RR's tomorrow for 150 bucks new in the box......there are very few people whose opinions I take seriously and they happen to be the smartass regulars.
Yea, the 35-308-8 will have .566 lift with 1.7's, that'll require new spings and retainers and possibly guide top/seal work to increase the distance between the retainer bottoms and the guide tops.
