normal GPR operation

Still working on finding the cause for my hard cold starts, and I had a test light on the GPR the other day and was wondering what normal operation was. When the key was turned on, both large posts were hot (powered), and remained powered until I turned my key off. Is this normal operation? Is there a better way to test my GPR?

One post is hot at all times, as it is tied to the batteries. the other becomes hot when the relay switches it on. The PCM controls the GP system and turns them on as need.

Take a DMM and test the actual voltage at the posts. There shouldn't be a difference. If you are getting a drop, start from there. I had a drop when I was using the gp109, but not with the stancor. Voltage at the batteries and at the gpr terminals are the same.

Also the glow plugs can stay active for up to 2 minutes, so both terminals on the relay will be hot during that time. Most folks don't know that the glow plugs are still on even when the dash light is off.
