i am going to be getting stage 2's and need a sd oil pump is there a certain year that only works or will any superduty do just fine. Also is this a bolt on or do you have to make some stuff up?
Is there any way you can make your 15*into a 17* oil pump ???
Yes, you can swap swash plates from the 17 into the 15, however, you have to be able to get into the pump to begin with and you have to have a 17 degree plate from a late 99 pump......and if you had a late 99 pump, you'd probably just install THAT pump.
Unless you were building a PULSE..........
Special note: If you're using a late model pump, make sure you get a pump for a 99.5. The Early 99's still had 15 degree pump.
As said the pump for a 99-03 should be a 17*. For your 97 it is a direct bolt in. For 94.5 to 95's its not but it will work if you do a standpipe mod which I guess I don't have the link for on this computer.
ive had a twinpump that i had on my performance motor i just havent messed with getting it in this motor, it was a twin i built years ago but hadnt got all the bugs worked out. i like the single pump idea ive always wondered about using the same tech as the factory pump just supersizing componets?? ive got a buddy thats a custom machinist but hes beyond he eyeballs in projects he has had the same thoughts on it. or a twin swash plate in a single housing, too bad alot of the hydraulic pumps cant handle the heat, higher pressures, and lower viscosity oil
