Well I was gonna put my IH 4bbl 345 into my '48 F1......but decided an old KB panel wagon would be better suited for that. I wanted a flattie, but my truck didn't come with one, then I wanted a 430 MEL. I settled on, (ok, I figured I'd go all the way) a 335 series 434.
I personally don't care what people put in theirs, as long as it's driven...cuz that means there's one more old Ford truck on the road.
The reason I'm writing this is because I had a heated debate with the 48-60 forum guys and they all seamed to have chevys in their Fords. About 3 of them had Ford engines
I think your over exaggerating a little bit. The "other brand" engines are a minority.
I have read that post with the various comments by nugecrazy. When you make comments like that you will bring people "out of the woodwork". This forum has several hundred members and I could almost count the "other brand" powered rides on my fingers and toes.
Vary rarely on 1965 and up trucks will you find a truck without a Ford engine since later engines are a bolt in affair with factory parts. It's the 1964 and earlier trucks where the most of the "customizations" occur.

Well there is a 302 in mine......but it is mainly there because the truck was setup for one when I got it.......had it been an empty engine bay...who knows what would have wound up there.......probably whatever "fell into my lap"...... after all a "rod is a rod" they are meant to be customized to personal taste IMHO
My 56 panel is sitting on a Chevy frame, so I'll stay with the small block that came with the frame, but if I ever get around to working on my pickup of the same year it will be Ford powered.
I have a chevy in mine, and I'm very ashamed of it!!, I even have put Ford decals on the aftermarket valve covers. I am planin on changin it as soon as I can get back to it, but it does run good. It just aint got any power.(305 chevy) I got it on a trade and it was still in the crate (brand new) I got it for nothin, so I kind of had to use it, but I wish I hadn't now. I have a 351W I plan on puttin in it next!!
