Ok I like to keep my truck spotless and the engine! Every time I wash the engine tho water gets in to some electrical connection and when I go to crank it up it loses idel and throtle I can floor it and it will climb a lil and then just fall on its face!!! Today it would only run with the check engine light on and if I turned it off then it would die a few times b4 the light came on and then it would run. I had to drive it around for about 30mins so it could dry out and now its fine. Iv put that dy electric grease on most of the connections but Im lost and I hate it!!!
I would get the PCm scanned for codes. that will point you in the right direction as to which sensor it is. I too like to keep my engine clean but I have never experienced that problem.
Actually now that I think about your description I think the EBPV (exhaust backpressure valve) is closing on you. I had that happen the first time I used the pressure washer. To test it unplug the two wire connector that is bolted to the intake side of the turbo right under where the intake tubing goes to the turbo.

No disrespect to Tim or Joe,, if it sets a hard light , I would suspect the ICP sensor,,,,JMHO.....
Unplug the ICP and blow the water out of the connector. Next time don't get it wet........said the master of the obvious

*Check Engine light illuminates when fault is present. On California and all Econoline, CHECK ENGINE light will turn off if no fault is detected for four consecutive drive cycles
