Getting ready to install a Pro Comp spring replacement leveling kit. Any tips, things I should consider before I dive in? Any tricks to removal of the track bar bolts? They look, shall we say snug. Thanks boys, any tips will be much appreciated!!
Ummmmm the track bar bolts?? Yea i have dont two of those kits one on my truck and one on my Gfs truck and I didnt have to take the track bar off.. but its a pretty easy install, I think it helps if you have a friend to help you but i did it by my self on of the times
The track bar bolts will probably need some heat. I put a procomp on my truck and had to replace my track bar with the larger one. Yours will have the larger one. If your kit is the one with the new springs I would suggest getting the front end up high. If it's anything like mine the new springs have a bunch more arc.
Thanks guys, i think you may be right about getting the front end up high, the new springs do have quite a bit of arc. I will keep you informed as to yhe outcome!
This is the bar that stops the left and right sway from happining to the front rear. On mine it go from the front axle on the passinger side to the frame rail on the driver side.
I had to take my trac-bar off to get the springs to aling in the hanger. Maybe I just wasn't lucky. Ended up putting the bolts in backwards with some work to keep from pulling the steering apart.
Go with hangers for leveling kit. I had a fab-tek kit and loved how it looked until I upgraded to my *******ized 6 inch kit. I might even put it back on if I can't get things figured out with it.
I went with a Tuff Country leveling kit. It gave me around 2.5in to 3in. lift in front. The best thing I can suggest is to remove the front bumper and track bar and let the front diff move, makes getting the dowl pins in the diff to line up a little easier in the springs. Hope all goes well. Anxious to see some pics when done.
