I adjusted the throttle position linkage on truck, but now the pedal action seems limited in its travel due to the restrictions of the throttle positioning linkage. Is there a way to increase the travel of the TPS linkage ?
Are you sure you don't mean TV cable tension? TPS stands for Throttle Position Sensor( Only on EFI setups) I don't think you could mess up throttle travel with misadjustin a TPS, but a TV cable too tight can cause what you're talkin about? If you have it too tight, it will cause all kinds of problems with you AOD!!!! The best way to adjust it is with a guage. There is some very knowledgeable folks on the Network54 forum for Ford Transmissions.I don't have the link handy right now, but the TV cable should just barley have a pull on it as it connects to the throttle body of an EFI or a carb??? Let me know if I didn't understand you correctly?
The "you tube" is for factory setups. Is that what you have? If you are using a carb you will need an aftermarket cable from Lokar or someone. It is best to adjust with a pressure gauge, or was for me. I know that Exfordman had his done at a shop that did it by feel and it works fine. If you use a Lokar set up you may need to add an additional spring to return the TV lever all the way. I did, and others have said they did also. Joe
Guys, thanks for the input; it is the throttle positioning cable (TV)to the transmission. I have my throttle pedal linkage connected, operates full range
(1 3/8") without TV cable attached to AOD. Check lever on transmission and it operates to a (3/4") range. When I connect it to the throttle body, it limits the pedal travel. Doing the math it seems the throtle pedal travel will always be limited in range by the TC cable ? As an aside, I did change the TV bracket to clear the shifter linkage, but this shouldn't affect the travel of the lever.
Thanks for the video clip Nathan. I had disconnected mine during the install and had wondered if I had it all back correctly. Tested it moments ago and it was correct, now I can worry about something else.
Cable length shouldn't be an issue (I think) the TV cable is disconnected at present time and has 3/4" travel. I may end up going to a transmission shop to get their input.

use caution if your planning on driving it to the trans shop with no tv cable, thats a sure way to smoke the trans. Lokar has instructions on their web site for their cable set up.
